Gnomonaut Releases Two New Tracks From Forthcoming Album Psychonautic Caverns

1531847_10152508406839535_5909170_nAtlanta based prog space rockers Gnomonaut have released two brand new recordings via their website. The tracks “Fingerhoof” and “Black Lung” are just teases from the band’s forthcoming album Psychonautic Caverns due out sometime this year. If this is any indication of what’s the follow I would say that this release will be an exciting follow up to the band’s debut album The Chronocosm.

The band posted the following statement via their official website (www.gnomonaut.com):

Hello, friends. You may have noticed we’ve gone fairly quiet on the band front lately. We’ve been dealing with our lives and the continuation of our favorite hobby, music. Obviously, it takes so much for a band to write, record and tour as a business unit, and we aren’t ever going to get to that spot. We’ve had a lot to say in the past about our upcoming album “Psychonautic Caverns”, as well as getting ready to play out in the near future. Real life seems to almost always throw a wrench into our plans. Please remain patient with us. We are committed to getting this album out in the near future, we hope to be playing out very soon and we’ve been working on our live set. We still practice almost every week, but the moving forward is a slow march, and sometimes it feels like a glacial pace. Job issues, schedule changes, family life, all of this presents obstacles across a quartet that require our (already limited) free time. Please know that we remain committed to bringing you quality progressive instrumental compositions in the most reasonable time frame we can. We have had some inquiries into our progress from some devoted fans recently, and it seemes like a post addressing our delays was in order. Thanks for being “friends of Gnomonaut” – we hope to be seeing you all soon.

Gnomonaut is a band that I have been following since they first popped up on my radar and is sadly a band that is way too inactive. This is the kind of band that I would love to see taking the scene by storm and I even believe that given the right opportunities could be turning as many heads as fellow prog instrumentalists Scale the Summit. I cannot wait to hear the full finished album but for now, you can find me drifting off while totally sinking into these sick, cosmic jams. I hope you’ll do the same and if you like what you hear, go to https://www.facebook.com/gnomonaut and tell them the Brainfart sent ya!
