In a move that shocked just about everyone with an internet connection that’s into metal, metal icon King Diamond announced that Finnish psychedelic occult rockers Jess and the Ancient Ones would be direct support for his upcoming North American Tour. The internet was a buzz with comments like, “Who?”, “Huh?”, and “Not what I was expecting.” As for me, those who know me know that I’ve been abuzz about this band since fatefully hearing them earlier this year. Being hand picked by King Diamond himself says so much and I can’t even begin to say how fucking pumped I am for this pairing. I thought the only way I would ever get to see Jess and The Ancient Ones would be to go to Europe but now they’ll be here in my own town of Atlanta on October 11th.
I reached out Thomas Fiend, lead guitarist for Jess and the Ancient Ones and he had this to say about the upcoming tour:
