2014: The Year in Interviews

interviewMy absolute favorite part about doing this website is getting the opportunity to talk to some of my favorite bands. I’m not one of these sites that cares about talking to bands of certain level. I just don’t give if a fuck. If you’re music has moved me, intrigued me, and totally captivated me, I want to talk to you. There is nothing cooler than just being able to ask some these folks the questions that I truly want answers for. I try my hardest to engage these folks the best I can by not asking them the same questions they get asked 100 times. So far, I have had nothing but great interviews with these people and have yet to have a really terrible experience. Well, other than that shit interview last year with Eric Peterson from Testament but even that one wasn’t horrible.

2014 was an exciting year of interviews for me. One of the highlights for me was getting the chance to talk one phone with Geoff Tate. That interview was supposed to be 15 minutes and an hour and 10 minutes later we were saying our good byes. He was engaging and even told me what a great time he had talking to me. I had the opportunity to introduce some of my newest favorite bands to you all such as Saturn, The Oath, Jess and the Ancient Ones, The Admiral Sir Cloudsley Shovell and I had an absolute blast talking to some childhood favorites of mine such as Skid Row’s Rachel Bolan and Black Star Riders/The Almighty frontman Ricky Warwick.

If you missed any of these interviews this year, they are all here in one easy to read post. I hope you all enjoyed reading these as much as I did doing these interviews. With every interview I do I feel like I come away from them with a new level of respect (yes, even Eric Peterson) and it just makes me remember why I love doing this so much. I can only hope that 2015 will be another great year of interviews and more opportunities for me to bring them to you all.
