According to Pathfinder Promotions, Valkyries Over Atlanta began humbly enough as ‘just a tour stop’ for a pair of bands on their way through Atlanta to a music festival in Florida. However, the timing was right for a series of connections to be made and it grew quickly over the course of 72 hours into quite a unique event itself.

Showcasing hi-caliber female-fronted hard rock & heavy metal acts from across the United States, Valkyries Over Atlanta will double as a fundraiser for the Voices of Teal Gynecological Cancer Awareness Foundation. With support from the local Atlanta Rock & Metal Scene, promotional allies and corporate sponsors, this event is expected to evolve into a true spectacle of annual musical entertainment, drawing in fans from all over the southeastern U.S.

The Valkyries Over Atlanta will feature Brainfart favorites Brave along with A Sound of Thunder, MindMaze, Eternal Mortality, Die Once, Mercy Isle, and Aria Flame. Tickets are available for a mere $13.00 by going to https://www.freshtix.com/events/valkyries-over-atlanta. You can also purchase VIP Tickets which includes a limited edition collectible full color laminated VIP Badge printed exclusively for the Valkyries Over Atlanta inaugural event, a lanyard, 11×17 poster, misc. swag, and a song download; also allows early entry into the venue and food & drink specials. VIP can be purchased at http://pathfinderpromotions.bandcamp.com/merch/valkyries-over-atlanta-vip-badge for only $25.00.

A Sound of Thunder

A Sound of Thunder is a Washington DC based heavy metal band. Their four piece band consists of Josh Schwartz on guitar, Nina Osegueda on vocals, Jesse Keen on bass, and Chris Haren on drums. A Sound of Thunder conquers metal realms ranging from ’70s blues-based proto-metal a la Black Sabbath and early Judas Priest, to triumphant modern power metal a la Hammerfall and Primal Fear. Soaring vocals, incendiary instrumentals, and classic songs combine to form an unrelenting, unapologetic slab of metal to stand the test of time.

Brave

Created in 1997 by guitarist Scott Loose (pronounced ‘Low Zee’) and drummer Trevor Schrotz, Arise From Thorns (AFT) began exploring and writing melodic, atmospheric and diverse music. Shortly thereafter, Scott’s sister, Michelle Loose, joined the band to provide keyboards and lead vocals. The music of AFT began to take form as the three members wrote and recorded their first self-titled CD that was released in 1998. AFT began playing in and around their hometown of Dale City, Virginia, a suburb of Washington D.C., and established a name for themselves in original, avant-garde music. In 1998, the trio was joined by bassist Chris Welborn, who previously played in the Northern Virginia-based band Division and guitarist Tom Phillips, founder of the band While Heaven Wept. The five of them began work for their follow up CD entitled ‘Before An Audience of Stars’ and continued to play clubs and festivals on the East Coast.

In the Spring of 2009, the London-based label Femme Metal Records released a 10 year Brave Anniversary CD entitled ‘Lost in Retrospect’. This CD contains 14 tracks of Arise From Thorns and Brave spanningtheir 10 year musical career.

Brave continue to write and record new music for a future release, and perform live sporadically throughout the United Sates.

Aria Flame

Aria Flame is an American neo-classical symphonic metal band with European flair hailing from Michigan. Utilizing operatic and rock style vocals, powerful guitar riffs and solos, symphonic keyboards and intricate bass and drums, the members of Aria Flame are truly professional performers. Their musical compositions are characterized by eerie diminished chords, occasional circus-like melodies, well formed bass and percussion. The lyrics describe ones journey from being taken into the darkness only to be reborn as the mythological phoenix. The word Aria comes from the classical word meaning “song” and the word “flame” represents the phoenix. Combining the two words reflects the combination of styles in their music.

Mercy Isle

In 2014, after returning home from her third year performing in cover-music projects at MFVF, and with much support, encouragement, and demands to assemble a band from friends and fans, Kassandra approached these talented men and asked them to join her in a new band.
The overall response was “when do we start?”
And that’s how Mercy Isle was born.

Mercy Isle: sanctuary for the outcasts and loners, the ones who’ve felt left behind and pushed aside. Here is your strength. Here is your voice. Here is your music. Welcome to Mercy Isle, Islander. Welcome home.

Mindmaze

MindMaze are a promising band like no other. In a time when female-fronted metal is at an all-time high in popularity but also at an all-time high for copycats and imitators, MindMaze has striven hard to forge their own sound and identity. Hailing from Allentown, Pennsylvania the four-piece band are young (all aged 23-25), but have honed their craft with over one-hundred gigs spanning over 250+ miles, including sharing the stage with metal mainstays such as Saxon, Doro, Overkill, Jon Oliva’s Pain, Circle II Circle, Fozzy, George Lynch, Raven, and many more.

Die Once

Die Once is a new female-fronted guitar-driven soulful hard rock band consisting of several veterans to the Atlanta live music scene. Their new single ‘Sacrifice’ is to be released on April 24, supporting FOZZY live on stage. The band is also gearing up for a full album release by summer 2015 to have available for the Valkyries Over Atlanta event.

Eternal Mortality

Since 2006, this female-fronted metal band has been seducing the Atlanta metal scene with the hauntingly beautiful vocals and piano pieces of Cassandra Thaxton, and the melodic, technically proficient guitar work of Andrew Collum. This unique blend of beauty and brutality has lured admirers of all arts onto common ground.

This union of two passionately creative minds has sculpted a musical medium so powerful that the simplest of messages can appeal to the deepest, darkest corners of the soul. It is our belief that art extends beyond the physical, mortal world. It is drawn from our own self-awareness; something of a divine consciousness. There is no division, only the undefined understanding which we seek and the images we portray.

The years spent obsessing over their craft has led the couple through a network of talented professionals throughout the industry, gaining much momentum and producing continuous success.
