Tired of Black Sabbath Clones? Then You’re Ready for Them: A King Diamond Themed Band

These days, bands that sound like Black Sabbath are a dime a dozen.  As a matter of fact, the term “Sabbath Worship” is one that’s been pinned on bands who boast that doom laden sound that was made famous by those four lads from Birmingham, England so many years ago.  Sounding like Black Sabbath seems to be the thing but how about a band that sounds like Mercyful Fate/King Diamond?  Well, trust me.  You didn’t even know it but this is the band you have been secretly hoping would come along for a long, long time.

THEM is the new U.S. metal band featuring bassist Mike LePond (SYMPHONY X) and drummer Kevin Talley (SUFFOCATION).  I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sold by the overall idea of it all but when I give this a listen I was fucking floored. Again, it’s so nice to hear a band paying homage to someone other than Black Sabbath. Honestly, it’s no easy feat to pay homage to King Diamond but Them does it extremely well and still managing to sound like their own band. Trust me, this is a band worth paying attention to.

Them has signed a deal with Belgium’s Empire Records. A limited-edition tour CD called “Fear Them”, will be available on THEM‘s U.S./Canadian tour as the support act for German power metallers HELLOWEEN and can also be purchased at THEM‘s Bandcamp page. “Fear Them” contains three tracks (“Forever Burns”, “Dead of Night” and “Blood From Blood”) from THEM‘s upcoming debut album, “Sweet Hollow”.

THEM is:

Mike LePond (SYMPHONY X) – Bass
Kevin Talley (SUFFOCATION) – Drums
Markus Ulrich (LANFEAR) – Guitar
Markus Johansson (SYLENCER) – Guitar
Richie Seibel (LANFEAR) – Keyboards
Troy Norr “KK Fossor” (COLDSTEEL) – Vocals
