Australian Metalers Airbourne are known for their high energy and insanely fun live shows. Singer/Guitarist Joel O’ Keefe is known for taking it up a notch by jumping into the crowd to take a solo and even scaling balconies but at the UK 2010 Download Festival in Donnington Park he took it a bit too far for comfort.
O’Keefe scaled the steel stage rafters to the highest he could go in the friggin’ rain! This guy is absolutely batshit crazy but it drove the audience nuts and it was quite a spectacle. The stunt lead to their stage manager having the power cut off until O’Keefe came down from the rafters. The crowd responded with chants of “Airbourne” as they threw everything from cups to bananas at the stage manager. The band put on an amazing performance at the festival according to all that were there. Check out the video below for footage of O’Keefe in action!
