It has been confirmed that the 2nd leg of the “American Carnage Tour” will be a class reunion of sorts of the 1991 Clash of the Titans tour. Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax will join forces to bring which just may be the most kick ass metal tour of the summer. The tour kicks off on September 24 at Verizon Wireless Theater in Dallas, Texas and will play 20 dates. The “American Carnage” winter tour was canceled due to Slayer’s Tom Araya’s back surgery but if you ask me, it was kind of a blessing. Why? Well, because of that tour being canceled we got an amazing Megadeth/Testament/Exodus tour which exceeded all expectations and turned out to be quite an awesome tour.
This “Clash of the Titans” reunion will be one hell of a tour. Slayer will be performing 1990’s “Seasons in the Abyss” in it’s entirety which I can’t even begin to say how awesome this will be. Megadeth will continue to reward the masses with their performance of their 1990 album “Rust In Peace” and Anthrax (who recently reunited with singer Joey Belladonna) will serve as the first act on the bill and as of now their set has been made up of classic Anthrax material and even had them performing the John Bush era tune “Only.”
While this tour is really quite an exciting and fun line up, this tour bears bad news for anyone who was holding out for “The Big Four” to tour here in the states. To be honest, I say big fucking deal. You get the three best of “The Big Four” anyways on this line up. So look at it as seeing “The Big Four” minus a crappy Metallica set. Count me in on this one y’all!
