This Day In Metal History

On this day, April 1, back in 1985, David Lee Roth and Van Halen parted ways. David Lee Roth would go on to record such awesome albums as “Eat ‘Em and Smile”, “Skyscraper” and “A Little Aint Enough.”  Working with such stellar musicians as Steve Vai, Billy Shehan, Greg Bissonette, Jason Becker and Joe Holmes, Diamond Dave would put out some amazing music that both challenged himself and his audience to broaden their spectrum a bit.

Van Halen would go on to sound like watered down keyboard pop music with that guy who not only can’t drive 55 but apparently can’t rock or write a decent song to save his red ass!

I call Diamond Dave the true winner in this one!
