Gwinnett’s Wild Bill’s Announces 2012 Summer Rock Series Concert Line-Up: Skid Row Starts Things Off SATURDAY NIGHT!

My good friend and local rock goddess Randi asked me to share this information with all my readers.  Atlanta area Fartheads, as you know, Wild Bills has been bringing in some kick ass shows and this summer will be no different.  Read on and get out there to see some live music!

Back by popular demand at Gwinnett’s Wild Bill’s, 2075 Market Street, is the Summer Rock Series, and Skid Row, the first “hard rock/heavy metal” band to debut at #1 on the Billboard album charts, kicks-off the Series on Sat., June 9, with special guests Bigfoot and The Dreaded Marco. In addition to Skid Row, the third annual Summer Rock Series line-up includes some past series favorites such as Aaron Lewis and rehab as well as some new headliners like Jackyl and Dangerous New Machine.

The 2012 schedule includes:

  • Jackyl with special guest Nigel Dupree on Sat., June 16;
  • Under the Covers w/Aly featuring Foxy Shazam, Ill Communication and Nine Inch Neil’s on Sat., June 30;
  • Aaron Lewis, frontman of 90s hard rock band Staind, on July 7;
  • rehab on their Gullible’s Travel 2012 Tour on Sat., July 21;
  • Dangerous New Machine with SUPER bob and Viasava on Fri., July 27;
  • And a couple of special shows to be announced.

Skid Row is the ideal band to kick-off the Summer Rock Series because they were a part of both previous Series, and they have developed quite a loyal fan base in metro Atlanta with two-fifths of the band residing here. The “new” drummer, Rob Hammersmith (he’s been a member of the band for over two years now), and bassist Rachel Bolan reside in the metro area; therefore, the Wild Bill’s show is like a homecoming and kicks-off a very busy summer touring schedule for the band.

Of the show, Bolan says, “We will deliver the high energy show that everyone has come to expect from Skid Row. Classic material mixed with newer material and possibly a surprise or two”.

General admission tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door; tickets for a seat at a table of four cost $25 each; and tickets for VIP seating cost $50 for side stage mezzanine seats and $100 for side stage theater seats.

The doors at Wild Bill’s open at 7:30 p.m., concerts begin at 9:30 p.m., and the dance party will continue after the concerts until 2 a.m.  Wild Bill’s boasts plenty of available free parking, and “close-in” VIP parking, which costs $5 per car.  All shows are 18 and up.  For advanced tickets, visit www.ticketmaster.com.
