Iron Maiden launched a countdown clock sometime last week on their website and what it was counting down to was a complete mystery. The internet was swarming with rumors of everything from “The band is breaking up” to “They’re firing Janick!” I won’t go those two but what I will say is that this countdown was a BIG FAT FAIL! I had my screen up on the countdown clock and when it got to “0”, a pop up screen came up that said “Please Stand By”. There was an “OK” button to press and when I did, the screen goes blank and nothing is there! It’s obvious that Maiden’s web server is screaming bloody fucking murder somewhere across the pond as millions of Maiden fans wanted to know the big news!
The big news is just as I predicted. A release date, track listing, artwork and single download from their upcoming album “The Final Frontier.” The album will be released on August 16th. Here is all the info:
