Iron Maiden’s “The Final Frontier” To Debut A #3 on US Billboard Charts!

On August 17th, Iron Maiden released their 15th studio album “The Final Frontier” and has surpassed the expectations of many.  “The Final Frontier” is likely to sell between 65,000 and 70,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release according to industry web site Hits Daily Double.

This is Iron Maiden’s highest charting US album. Maiden’s previous album, 2006’s “A Matter Of Life And Death” peeked at No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart while 2003’s “Dance of Death” debuted at No. 18 on The Billboard 200 chart and “Brave New World” peeked at the No. 39 spot on The Billboard 200 chart. According to Music Week, IRON MAIDEN is on track to have a No. 1 album in the U.K. this Sunday, with “The Final Frontier” selling more than three times as many as its nearest competitor, EMINEM’s “Recovery” (Interscope), so far this week.

I couldn’t be happier about Iron Maiden’s position on Billboard. Of course I’d love to see them go to #1 here in the US but at least this is proof that Iron Maiden is still very much a relevant and important band in America. “The Final Frontier” is a solid testament that the band still has plenty of fire and their best years are still ahead of them!

Congrats to Eddie and the Boys! UP THE IRONS!!!
