Happy New Year! Let The Madness… Begin!

Happy New Year Fartheads!  I hope you all had a great, happy and safe holiday.  A new year is upon us and 2012 is already starting to look like an awesome year.  New albums by 3 Inches of Blood and Municipal Waste are just over the horizon and the live circuit is really starting to take shape.  Graveyard will be hitting the road for their first US tour and Anthrax/Testament/Death Angel will be making the rounds once again which will be a show not to be missed.  Let’s not forget the Symphony X and Iced Earth co-headlining juggernaut that will be taking over.

In addition to some amazing albums to be released and tours hitting the road, none other than my home base of Atlanta will serve has host to not one but TWO kick ass Metal music fests.  The Pathfinder Metalfest IV will be taking place on Saturday, July 7th and will be headlined by While Heaven Wept and will also feature the long awaited Atlanta performance of Brave.  Also, we will see the almighty ProgPower USA Festival XII which will boast an impressive roster featuring headliners Symphony X and Epica.

All this and we’re just scraping the surface of 2012.  Hell, even if the Mayans are correct, if the world ends this year at least we’ll get to see some kick ass shows before we all go down in flames.  Look out everyone as this is going to be a monumental year.  Please tell all your friends, family, girlfriends, ex-girlfriends, boyfriends and ex-boyfriends about The Brainfart.  Spread the word and let’s have some fun in 2012.  Thanks for stopping in and as Ozzy always says, “Let the madness begin!”

  1. The Number One news story of 2012 is already in effect, and I need to read about it on the Brainfart — David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen are about to do it again! They’re playing a special set at the Cafe Wha? in New York this Thursday, January 5th, and the new song “Tattoo” is out January 10th! Think you could get a press pass and plane ticket to New York by Thursday? How about a +1?

    1. Art, I am so excited to see what unfolds with this. I’m not even going to address this until after I’ve heard the first single which I am sure it’s going to better than ANYTHING they’ve ever put out with Hagar. Just how good it will be remains to be seen but I am hopeful. I just wish that Eddie and Alex would get off their fucking high horses and patch things up with Mikey. His energy was such a huge part of the Van Halen experience but in all honestly, let’s face it. We’re all there to see Ed and Dave anyways.
